Why Fresno drivers tint their windows
A parked car in a Fresno summer gets hot enough to make the steering wheel and seats painful to touch. Window film reduces how much solar energy comes through the glass, so the cabin heats up less and your A/C has less work to do once you're moving.
Tint also cuts glare from low morning and evening sun, adds privacy for whatever you leave in the car, and blocks the UV rays that fade and crack dashboards and upholstery over time.
- Less heat coming through the glass
- Reduced glare for safer, more comfortable driving
- UV protection for you and your interior
- Privacy and a clean, finished look
Ceramic vs. standard window film
Standard (dyed or carbon) films mainly darken the glass. Ceramic films use non-metallic ceramic particles to reject more infrared heat. You feel the difference on your skin, even at lighter shades. Because ceramic film has no metal in it, it doesn't interfere with phone, GPS or radio signals.
For Fresno's climate, most people who spend a lot of time in their car find ceramic worth the extra cost. We'll show you both films side by side so you can decide.
Tint shades explained: what the percentages mean
Tint is measured in VLT, or visible light transmission: the percentage of light that passes through the glass. A lower number means a darker window. 70% is very light, 35% is a medium shade many people pick for a clean, factory-plus look, 20% is noticeably dark, and 5% ("limo") gives the most privacy.
Factory glass on many SUVs and trucks is already tinted on the rear windows, so film adds to what's there. We'll measure your glass and show you real samples, so you can see how each shade will actually look on your vehicle before anything goes on.
- 70%: very light, mostly for heat and UV
- 50%: light shade with a subtle look
- 35%: popular balance of looks and visibility
- 20%: dark, more privacy
- 5%: limo tint, maximum privacy (rear windows)
California tint rules, explained before we start
California strictly limits tint on the windshield and front side windows, and rear windows have more flexibility. Before we install anything, we go over which shades are legal on each window of your vehicle, so you don't have to worry about a fix-it ticket.
You can read the law yourself in California Vehicle Code §26708.
How much does window tint cost in Fresno?
Most full-car window tint jobs in Fresno run roughly $200 to $400, depending on the film and the vehicle. Standard film is at the low end, and ceramic film costs more. Trucks, SUVs and vehicles with large rear glass usually cost a little more than a coupe or sedan, and removing old tint adds time.
We'll give you an exact price for your vehicle and film before any work starts. Call or send a quote request with your year, make and model.
What to expect at your appointment
Call or request a quote with your vehicle's year, make and model. We'll confirm the film, shade and price, and book a time that works for you. We're open until 8 PM Monday through Saturday, so an after-work drop-off is easy.
After install, keep your windows rolled up for a few days while the film cures. Small haze or water spots during curing are normal and clear up on their own.
Signs your old tint needs replacing
Older or low-quality film breaks down in Fresno sun. If you see any of these, it's time for new tint. We'll remove the old film and adhesive before installing new film.
- Purple or faded color
- Bubbles or blisters in the film
- Peeling or lifting edges
- Haze or distortion that makes it hard to see out, especially at night

Window Tinting FAQs
How long does it take to tint a car?
Most cars take a few hours, depending on the vehicle and how many windows we're tinting. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.
Is ceramic tint worth it?
If your car sits in the sun or you drive a lot during Fresno summers, ceramic film rejects noticeably more heat than standard film at the same shade. If you mostly want privacy and looks, standard film may be enough. We'll walk you through both.
Is ceramic tint legal in California?
Ceramic is a type of film, not a shade. What makes tint legal is how dark it is and which window it's on. We'll only install shades that comply with California law for each window.
Can I roll my windows down right after tinting?
No. Keep them up for a few days so the film can cure and bond to the glass. We'll tell you exactly how long when you pick up.
Do you remove old tint?
Yes, we can remove old, faded or bubbling film before installing new tint. Mention it when you request a quote.
Are you open after work?
Yes. We're open Monday through Saturday until 8 PM, and closed Sunday.
